When Whole Foods Market approached us to give a facelift to the Bridgeport store we were thrilled to take on the project. Due to its close proximity to our offices and shop are able to use this project as a case study, allowing us to walk clients through a custom designed CDS environment. It’s also a second-generation store, meaning we did the original décor for the grand opening.
Bridgeport is one of eight stores simultaneously getting a refresh in the Pacific Northwest region. Each will have similar signage and wayfinding elements but the materials, colors and graphic styles reflect the unique aspects of the communities in which they reside. In Bridgeport’s case, we took inspiration from several historic, local bridges and train trestles, represented by geometric, abstract patterns that can be seen throughout the store. The new paint palette is clean and provides the perfect base, highlighting décor and product as well as serving to lighten the store’s previously muted tone. The upscale simplicity of the store aligns perfectly with the adjacent Bridgeport Shopping Center.
